Texas Hill Country

This is our next-to-last stop (Bandera) before the caravan ends on Friday in Ingram.  The hill country is quite beautiful, although we haven't seen many fall colors yet.  At least there are leaves.

Our stay in Fredericksburg was great.  Main Street has many many shops down both sides of the street.  My favorite was the kitchenware store where I purchased several cookie cutters.  At the quilt shop in Kerrville I encountered the very best quilt shop I have ever been to.  The choices were almost overwhelming, but I did buy some fabric and a pattern.

Today we visited the LBJ Ranch before our drive here.  It is a beautiful spot and we can see why the Johnsons loved it so much.  We were only able to see one room downstairs as the National Park has only just begun to get it ready for visitors.  It wasn't until the death of Lady Bird that they were able to really take possession.

Last night was the caravan birthday party for the three members who had birthdays during the trip.  Larry was among them, as his birthday is today.  We're going out to dinner with Bob and Elaine and Bob and Kay Cole.

Still no ballots.  Guess we'll have to sit this election out unless they arrive before Wednesday.

The weather is still hot here, but the nights have been cool.

Tuesday we all take a bus to San Antonio for the day and we're looking forward to that.  Now I'll try to add some pictures before dinner.

Keep in touch.
