All Terrain Caravan

We began the caravan in Felton, CA, on January 23. Marcia prepared dinner for us that night in the clubhouse - cassoulet, green salad, rolls and PEPPERMINT CHEESECAKE. This is not going to be a Weight-Watchers' caravan. After dinner we played - Joker. What else?

Tuesday we left with Carlos and Rosemary and Mike and Carol for Henry Cowell State Park, right next door to the RV park. It was a very nice hike around the loop trail and we took pictures of all the very big trees as we went along. Rosemary narrated at the numbered stops. Carol and Mike even ventured inside one tree - saying it was more roomy than their trailer.

For lunch we decided to head down to Santa Cruz and the wharf. Fish and chips with cups of clam chowder for Larry and me. The rest of the afternoon involved getting Carlos to various places where he could have a document notarized and then faxed. They saw a good cross section of the folks who reside in Santa Cruz.

Wednesday was our day to drive to Dubost Winery for our night's stay. This was dry camping at the winery property. We squeezed in between Carlos and Rosemary and the winery itself.
The winery proprietors had a fine feast for us all. Wine samplings, appetizers, and a wild boar dinner. It was amazing. Plus, no one had to drive after all that consumption. The per person price was only $20, but the Dubosts more than made up for it with our purchases! We then spent the remainder of the evening visiting with the Leaches.

Thursday took us first to Cambria for lunch (Main Street Grill has great hamburgers) and then to our destination of Morro Bay. Our weather has become increasingly perfect! Deanna and Tom Bain have now joined us and I convinced Larry to take Deanna and me to the quilt shop while we're here. Joker tonight with Deanna, Marcia, Larry and me.
